So i just recently did some modifications to my gst and now i got some problems or so i think.
1) I removed the boost control solenoid restrictor and everything went fine. I heard my blow off valve even louder than normal.
2) After my first mod i modified my intake by cuttin the blow off valve dump tube in half. Now i cant hear my blow off valve venting and my turbo sounds funny. Instead of a smooth zing sound, i hear a kind of rough zinging sound from my turbo. :(

P.S. I am still using my stock airbox/filter

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am assuming your probably looking to make it sound louder. Have no fear, the volume at which your hearing the BOV sound is not directly related to the performance. These modifications if done properly should help performance and not hurt it. I know alot of newbies try to make it "Louder", our cars however, were never made to vent to the atmosphere. It can be done of course, but is totally not a needed mod.

PERFORMANCE IS KING HERE - asking questions aboutloud blow off valves will give the impression that you're not here for performance. This site was built to encourage modifying DSMs to go faster, not look or sound faster.

What NOT to ask in the forums:
- How do I make my BOV louder?

No. I am not asking how to make the blowoff valve louder. I am asking why i dont hear it at all. I was hearing it very clearly before doing the dump tube mod.

ok question when you disconnected the solinoid, did you put a mbc on. Disconnecting the solenoid is going to allow vacume to escape, and also would only allow the amount of pressure the waste gate acctuator will allow.

He said he removed the restrictor, not pulled the solenoid out of the loop.

Back on topic. Check the basics. Make sure your intake is on right, and that everything's hooked up properly. Make sure no vacuum hoses were forgotten. Make sure the little rubber ring that fits around the turbo intake (do 2Gs have that rubber ring?) didn't fall off and get lost.
And the CBV is supposed to be quiet... sometimes it gets a bit louder, but that really should be the exception, rather than the rule. What more worries me is the turbo sound. Make sure your CBV actuator vac line is connected solidly at both ends, silly as it sounds. After that, check for shaft play on the turbo. Beyond that... well, really have to hear it to tell.
