Here is a 1g bov that I picked up today for cheap. Is the flange on the bottom what I need to put this on my 2g? Also...it looks as though it has been cut on the bottom of the flange. Is is too short to install or can I still use it?

yea the flange is def. cut. you might be able to make it fit, but i would only use that as a temporary thing, in the meantime think about getting a UICP flanged for 1g BOV like a Dave Brode.

The BOV itself doesn't look affected. However, you don't really have much hope of clamping what's remaining of that flange to the plastic UICP if you have stock. Either find an adapter, an upgraded UICP, or perhaps a new IC system that's flanged for the bov. It looks pretty beat up so make sure to do a boost leak test when you install it.

Is the 2G BOV pipe plastic?

I have another question about this 1g bov. I noticed that on a lot of the pictures that I've seen, the top of the bov is slightly turned or something so that the vacuum hose isn't kinked. On the one that I have, it's straight. The hose on mine isn't really kinked, but I would feel better if I could angle the top a little but so that I don't have to stretch the house around to fit on there. Is there a way to turn the top or something so that it isn't such a stretch for the hose? Compare my picture up top to this one:

i'm guessing the bov on this picture is newer i got a 1st gen bov laying around and the nipple for the vaccum line is facing just like yours but i don't think theres a way to turn it you can just use a longer vaccum hose..

Just get a 90 degree bend at your local hardware store. 1" of hose, bend, hose to manifold.

*edit* Thought I should elaborate, because that was a little vague. You can buy a ton of hose adapters at hardware stores. Various sizes and angles. Usually plastic and some in metal (brass or whatever). The ends are barbed. Should work great.

Ok so I have the 1g bov installed but I just wanted to make sure that this is ok. Is the vacuum hose alright or is it at too much of an angle, or does it matter? I know that you don't want it kinked, but would anyone consider this kinked or am I ok? Thanks.

A little longer hose wouldn't hurt and probably costs somewhere between $2-$5 at Pep Boys.

Wow, I knew the blow off valve was plastic, but not the pipe. flange and all. That is disgusting!

Flange? Ha. We have a hole with a worm clamp around it. And as for plastic, that only goes about halfway, the rest is a glorfied rubber hose as can be seen in 2gGSX97's pictures.
