3rd has no power... brakes dont work

so after driving a corrado for months and having many problems with it got fed up and decided to buy another dsm bought a 92 laser rs awd and there are problems 1st and second gear pull hard as soon as i shift in to 3rd and give it gas it goes no where and vibrates a whole hell of alot....and forth it wont go into? and stoping just doesnt happen pedal goes strait to the floor ...can the calipers be stuck?...any ideas

ok so i found out the brake problem car was sitting for 2 years before i bought it so 3 out of the four calipirs were frozen and the one that wasent had no brake pad left in it right down to the metal...but dont know about the third gear but when i shift at high rpms it seems to work better ???? any ideas

Check for boost leaks and make sure you have lubricant in the tranny. Also check alignment of shift cables.

You should perform maintenance before doing any real driving esp with a 1G DSM. Bleed the lines, change all fluids/oils, brake pads, timing/balance shaft belt, spark plugs, etc. Doing that should help isolate any issues and add keep it from breaking down... at least breaking down quicker than usual.

are you using a data loger? check for knock
