I was taking my tierod off the control arm and it was stuck. I hit it with a hammer to get it off and messed up the threads. I cant get the bolt back on. Should I get a whole new tierod , get one from a junk yard, or grind the bad threads off and locktite the bolt on. Btw, I have no money.

Pics would really help the situation. Since you messed up the threads, I'll assume only the threads are just damaged enough - not totally destroyed. You would have to find out the size/thread count on the bolt and purchase a tap and dye set. Find the dye that corresponds with the bolt and re-thread it. Might or might not work depending on how bad it is. Otherwise you could just go find a new tierod.

Wouldnt it be cheapest to just go get one from a junk car? Or do they go bad or something?

If you dont have the money to spend i would try fixing the threads like rst95eclipse said. If you do fix it cool, but if you dont at least it was an attempt to not spend money.

Yeah replace it if it is financially possible. If not look into a thread chaser or a dye that could repair the threads. Do not hash it though, it holds you on the road.
