Is this a reputible source for engines? I am currently running a stock 2.0 4G63 FWD, and I want to swap over to the 4G63T AWD. Their package seems to cover everything that I need to do the swap, except the rear driveshafts and other parts for AWD conversion.

Are these motors as good as they say they are, only having 10-35k miles on them? Do they usually work well?

The question is, is it worth the money to buy one of these engines?

maybe try to find a doner awd car locally? I've not heard much about JDMracingmotors.com. You can get pre-built motors from our sponsors that are very good too.

I actually had my JDM swap done there after my orig head cracked. did a good job, but took a bit longer then I wanted. No problems with the car, runs great, only thing was that my sender for factory oil pressure gauge on my old 7 bolt was different then the 6-bolt they put it, so i am planning to install it later on when i get the chance, and I saw that they had left the wire hanging, which is just a little annoying.

Good stuff they did for me though, I dont have much bad to say.

There is absolutely no point in buying a jdm motor. I'd pick it up a motor from somewhere else. If you buy there anyway let us know.

I have a 91 with the jdm motor and trans. Just bought it recently but it has 30 thousand on it since being put in only thing now is its out of commission do to a clutch cable fraying loose. (money money)

I'd hate to break it to you but you can't just bolt up an AWD system to your FWD. In order to make an AWD system work on a 1g, you need to completely cut out the back floor pan and fabricate a new pan. The back end of the unibody is completely different on a FWD compared to an AWD. The FWD rear pan dips down so the spare can lie inside whereas an AWD pan is bubbled up so the transfercase has the ablilty to move up and down.

I'd figured there would be alot of issues putting the AWD motor into a FWD car. I have all the access to tools and equipment that would be needed for the project.

Th main thing I like about that is that they say the engines have 10-35k miles on them. Sure it'd be easier to find a local car, but it would have been driven hard and have 100k+ on it, not to mention being out of commission for some reason or another.

I would just buy a brand new pre-turboed car, but I've put a TON of body work into the one I have right now. It's almost ready to go to the paint booth for a custom lamborghini orange paintjob with white tribal wings airbrushed on the sides. It runs fine right now, I just want to turbo it somehow, and I'm located in Iowa, so my selection is pretty limited. I'd actually rather have a FWD turbo, but beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks for the help guys.

WTF :barf: If you would rather have fwd turbo then why would ask about awd swap ?? There isn't an issue with putting a awd motor into a fwd car the issue is making a fwd car awd drive.

Well, I'd have to switch out the tranny, and the JDM motor comes with an AWD tranny, so I just thought It'd be cheaper to do an AWD conversion from a junker.
