hey all, ive searched the forums for my answer so i hope that its truely not there.

i have read that you can just disconnect all the power steering components and that will give you non-power assisted steering, but i was wondering if there may be a way to just make it more stiff or harder to turn the wheel while still giving you the power assisted steering.

i was thinking a thicker fluid, but didnt want to try till i had some more info.

96 gs n/t

i do appoligize if this has been posted somewhere

I dont get it...
The two reasons people have power steering and DONT have power steering are to A, make the wheel turn easier. Or B, to gain the horsepower and engine room...?

ive been wondering the same thing i have a 96 gst and a 95 gst both have power steering hooked up but the steering on the 96 is a lot stiffer than on the 95 and i feel that i have a lot more control with the 96 and want my 95 to be the same way. the 95 seems to follow ruts really bad and if i hit little bumps, or just slightly move the wheel it gose all over the place but on the 96 the steering seems more solid and controlled

Find yourself a crappy ps pump n it will give u some hard steering, along with a little noise. Ethier u have it or u don't. I would check your innner n outer tierods, there could be excessive play causin your bump pull
