Victoria,
original clutch with ~60k miles started slipping before I left to go to work.. as soon as I get back in another couple weeks I want to replace everything to do with the clutch... so far here's what I've got jotted down and some stuff I haven't decided over yet... please let me know if I'm missing anything or think I'm making the wrong decision...

CFDF clutch (had one in my old talon.. loved it)

Fidanza flywheel (does a fidanza come stepped for a CFDF? can it be ordered that way?)

OEM pivot ball and clutch fork

OEM TOB

rear main seal and axle seals

stainless clutch line

replace master and slave cylinders with OEM, or should I just rebuild them? (I like replacing things with OEM but I think I might be throwing my money away.. I'm sure some rebuilds would probably hold them until my next clutch job, neither are leaking right now....)

thanks for the help...

Flywheels usually come with manufacturer´s step height spec. But there has been cases were is out of spec. It´s always good to check it.

You can rebuild the master and the slave, depending if the cylinder is scuffed or not. Haynes and Chilton´s show how to check it.

You might want to rebuild first, its a lot cheaper, and it works in a lot of cases. Check if the cylinder it´s within spec.

Stainless Steel clutch line, its always a great choice.

TOB, fork, pivot ball, go always OEM.

About the clutch, its a matter of personal choice. CFDF is great, and i even had one, that went bad one me. But i think ACT is a more popular choice. Its been proven to work very well.

check this site, it might help you understand, about clutch and flywheels:

Good luck. :thumb:

neither is leaking right now.. so I'm sure the bores are still fine... I'm bleeding the system for the stainless line so I might aswell just rebuild them at the same time..

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the CFDF required a specific step... but according to RRE all of their flywheels work with all of their clutches.. so I guess this is untrue and the fidanza will just work out of the box with either an ACT or a CFDF?

If im not mistaken, all clutches are made within a factory spec. Therefore, the flywheel step height should not be changed, and it should remain within the mitsu tolerance. I used to have a CFDF and it worked fine with my stock flywheel.
