So i just got my 7bolt block back from the machine shop after being bored for a 2.3l stroker kit. they took out the oil jets (I think that is what they are) my question is can i reuse them? or do i have to get new ones from the stealership?

here is a pic

those are lifters... you can reuse them if you didn't notice any lifter tick previously... I would recommend 3G/revised lifters, they are nice

no these are not the lifters. these came out of the block. It is located in the cylinder walls one for each cylinder.

They are not lifters, not sure if you ever sen lifters before but they don't look like that. They are just what your machinest said they are they squirt oil at the bottom of your pistons.

so should i get new ones or are these still useable?

If you went with forged internals, then some people eliminate them. I didnt on my build I just cleaned them and reused them. But I I already had them out I would probably just replace with new ones. Some people blame the crankwalk problem on the oil squirters. Just my .02
p.s . I looked for the Magnus article and could not find it if I can I will post you a link.

yeah thanks man. I am installing a eagle stroker kit with Arias pistons. I really do not want to go to the dealership to get new ones if i do not have to. I am loacted in Germany right now and they freaken overcharge for parts worse than the good ol' US of A. they use Euros and the conversion rates kill over here. these may not be expensive but other things hurt my pockets

If you do take them out you have to remember to close up the holes or you will have real low oil pressure.

i plan on leaving them in. thats why I wanted to know if i can reuse them. oh and how do i re-install them. do i just use a brass punch to push them back in?

I just spray about a whole can of brake cleaner through all them. Some nasty junk came out of mine but Ive had no issues.

Thanks! anyone know the mitsubishi part number for the oil jets? I checked Mitchell On Demand and could not find it.

I want to have the part number when i go to the stealership. I am in germany and the language barrier sucks. I figure if i have the part number i'll be speaking a universal language in the mitsubishi world

hmm, good luck there tony, some part numbers are different, if anything, ill give you my VIN number and they can search using that ...

if you show em a US vin number ,theyre gonna get all stupid about ordering stuff (even though the parts are the same, they often have different numbers-) and many parts guys dont know shit about cars. .. all they know is how to punch numbers in the computer.

OT : Mitsu is anal about using VINs,you cant even get a Bulb without a VIN .. WTF

Not at my dealership that I frequent. I tell the guy what I want and he can look at either a 1g or 2g diagram. I told him about this practice and the only thing we could come up with is that they have no clue what the difference is between a GSX and an ESi.

Just don't forget to change the check valves on the oil squirters (don't know if they're a part of the squirter, or a seperate piece), if they're already out. Preventative maintenence after a rebuild... but then I like to replace any convenient, inexpensive parts when I'm doing any work on the car at all, as it won't take any extra time and saves me having to do all the work over again once it does fail.

okay fellow DSMers. I need a favor..anyone willing to help me out?

I did a search and could not find the part numbers to the oil jets or squirters. can someone get me the part number ASAP. thanks in advance
