so i want to get an exhaust system for my talon and i have been looking online for one and i saw a few that interested me. i am looking for a full exhaust from the manifold back. my only question is....can a 3'' exhaust fit the standard manifold or does an after market one have to be placed where the stock manifold is?

If I am not mistakin, the manifold is 2 1/2 inch outlet, most turbo backs are flanged at 2 1/2 at that point and then everything else is 3in...just have to have a 3in cat as well unless you are going to "foget" to put it in

Yea, most aftermarket downpipes are flanged to the size of your manifold. And screw cats, you might as well ride without one until every state ends up like California. HAHA

More than likely it will be from the o2 housing back. As long as you have a stock positioned o2 housing you should be safe. A word of advise would be to ask whom you are looking at exhausts from, they should be able to help you out as to what *their* products requires. :thumb:

True, just about all o2 housings are 2.5". There's really no need to go bigger than that unless you plan on 500+ horsepower.

So......get a 2g manifold and port it(cheaper) or buy a tubular manifold

..........get a 2.5" downpipe with cat eliminator

..........get 3" test pipe back to straight through muffler.

or this is also a good deal for a downpipe back N1.........

I suggest you get an o2 dump if your worried about restrictive issues with a 2.5 inch downpipe.
