Brake Cylinder and high idle after warmup

I have 2 issues now with the Talon.
First off, I installed a 93 TB on my 90 talon (only difference was the TPS) I cut the wires and spliced them correctly. Then, to avoid coolant leaks, I simply used a hose to connect both water lines on the bottom of the throttle body together, eliminating water from going into and out of it.

Now, my car starts up fine but as soon as it warms up, the idle stays at around 2000-2200rpms. Its annoying! Can this be because of the different TPS or because of the way the FIAV was blocked?


Second, break cylinder loses almost all brake fluid in a week and I found a non-turbo eclipse at the junk yard and was wondering if any of you know if a NT brake master cylinder will fit on a turbo dsm?

Blocking the coolent flow is fine - I did that as well. However, If you just loop the coolent lines and not BLOCK IT OFF COMPLETELY (from the inside of the throttle body) - it will bypass air, no matter what the temperature is. Even with your throttle closed, your BISS screw adjusted, you're letting excess are flow into the engine, thus increasing your RPMs. If you're not going to block internally.....

Then you're best off hooking it back up like stock. Cool?

thanks guys for that, I guess my cheapest option is to just go and buy a couple of hoses and put that thing back to stock form. I will see if that brings my idle back to the 850s.

too bad about the nt brake cylinder, that thing was $5 at the junk yard.
 
ok, I finally got my laptop back, hooked it up to my car and logged the TPS. At idle, its reading about 5-6% throttle even though the throttle is all the way up. Is there something I can adjust to get my throttle back down to 0% at idle???
 
i kind off have the same problem with my 93 talon es except that it revs at 2500rpm when i start it then when it warms up it goes down if i plug my FIAV should that fix the problem:talon:
 
As long as your throttle is completely closed, that's all you have to worry about. It'll show that it's slightly opened. they're always slightly angled and allow air to by-pass @ idle for certain things like, if you kick your A/C on or power steering needs more RPMS w/ the ISC. (the little motor behind the FIAV)

What you should be worrying about is if your throttle goes to 100% @ WOT. that's another story. Just make sure your cable is loose enough (yet still tight for WOT) that it doesn't pull the plate slightly open without you even having the pedal pressed. as far as Idle goes. get your FIAV plugged the correct way, or hook up your coolent lines like stock.

- it doesn't really sound like you're having a problem. when cars are cold, they will start and raise idle to warm up to operating temperature faster. if your idle DOES NOT GO DOWN then you have an issue. But after warming up, it drops down to 700-900rpms you should be fine.
