cars not dead but wont start

ok when i went to start it last night it started real slow like the battery was dying, but my volt meter read 13.5v so i know that the battery wasnt dead. So i come out this morning to go to work and the car starts to do what it did last night but then stops and its just clicking, checked the battery and it was 12.8v with the multimeter. So i checked fuses grounds and wiring but nothing so i think its the starter but im not sure. oh and another think, i was in the driveway so i put it in gear turned the key to on and let it roll back and dropped the clutch but nothing. So im kinda stumped so any help would be nice.

i had a similar prob with one of my cars. first see if your getting spark. pull out your plugs and see if they are fowled out. then prob check and see if your getting fuel. that is what i would check first before buying a new starter

Try jumping it. 14V is usually a good charge before cranking.

well turns out that it was something pretty stupid my negative battery connecter was cracked under neath so it wasn't grounding properly so thats fixed now and everything is good.
