i bought my car about 9 months ago with the top end stripped. i bought a new head and had a stage 2 port and polish done. when i put it all back together my timing was off so i took it to a friends shop and he put adjustable cam gears on for me. i went to pick it up yesterday and while driving back i discovered a major oil leak. i am still not sure where it is coming from but it is not drivable. would yall pull the motor and go through it or try and fix it????????????:dsm:

Just go through and fix it. Clean the motor and see where the leak is from. There are only a few places oil can leak but its hard to pin point on a dirty motor. Dont pull motor unless your rebuilding.

No sense in pulling the motor. At least not yet. You should narrow it down so you can see where the oil is coming from. Follow the drips so you can get a general idea, then we can help you narrow it down even further. Figure out if it's coming from the belt side of the motor, the transmission side, or the exhaust manifold side. If you need help seeing it, take some pictures. We'll be glad to help.

Sounds like you'll need to pull the transmission at least, unless it's coming from the head - from the gasket to the valvecover. Hopefully it's from the headgasket up and not your seal. Those pics might be worth a looksee. As the members above stated, clean it in order to pinpoint where it's coming from.

i did want to eventually rebuild the lower end so this just might be my excuse to go ahead and do it:beatentodeath: :dsm:
