In my 97 GSX in the morning i have to give it gas on start up,but once its warmed up, you dont need to, my fuel mods are 255 pump, afpr,550cc, what could this be, this mechanic guy i know said coolant temp sensor?

when one of my friends got a dsm the bov was vented and it would die when it was cold. So we recirculated it like it was supposed to be and it idled fine when cold. So i would check that.

Fuel pressure solenoid is most likely removed. What it does is up the pressure during start up so its easier to start the car. It just makes it harder to start. Mines removed and it still starts without hitting gas so it could be something else. How much fuel do you have to give it? Does it take a while to start.

Also, nothing happens on a fuel injected car when you "give it gas" while cranking. It only opens the TB plate.
And if you push the accelerator to the floor, it shuts off the injectors on some vehicles.

Just a heads up. The other guys most likely solved your problem!

If there is too much fuel being injected, opening the throttle plate can help. What is your base fuel pressure with the vacuum line removed?

my fuel gauge on my car reads 32psi at idle warmed up. The gauge in the engine bay reads 40psi when unplugged reads 50psi.
