I'm 99% sure that I'm going to purchase a 1g hks powerflow intake (used) from a dude off of ebay... heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...RK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=170079315826&rd=1,1
the guy told me he'd sell it to me for $25 shipped. Anyone have any experience with this intake? I've been told it is a great intake, very noticeable gains, spoolup sound/time, and that it will allow you to crank up the boost to 19 psi on stock trim (which Im a bit unsure of) without hitting fuel cut...

any input, comments frustrations anxieties complaints suggestions etc?

thanks,
nick

It will sound louder(spool up), but you need more fuel mods to keep up with all that air you will be pushing in at 19psi. IMO, keep boost were you have it now until you get fuel upgrades and other supporting mods to go with more boost.

I owned one. As far as my personal experience you could hear the turbo spool louder. Becarful when tightening the center knob in the filter element. They have a tendancy to break off. It was a tight squeeze, but cutting both mounting tabs made it easier to install/remove.

i don't think that you will be getting louder air sucking noise off that filter, cause i tried many of them like K&N Greddy Airnix, Apexi, they have some different sound but not loud at all maybe some people gain better i mean louder sound but i didn't i dunno why,but it didn't happened :( i think it depends of your air intake pipe (the loudnes)

My friend had one of these on his bone stock 1g fwd. He said he felt no difference and spool time was actually quicker with the stock airbox on there. Maybe the part was bad because he got it used but thats what he said.
