Hey all -
Didn't really know where to put this, so here goes.
Check this eBay listing for a rebuilt 6 bolt by these guys:

Wondering if anyone knows anything about this company. I'm currently looking for a 6 bolt replacement for my car and saw this one.
My initial impression:
1. The pic looks great.
2. The price is awesome.
3. 1 year warranty on cylinder head and valves. (No idea what the warranty is on the rest of it. No warranty maybe?)
My second thoughts:
1. They don't say what parts they used except for ARP head studs and Topline pistons.
2. How can they offer so much for so little? Porting, paint, powder coating and cryto-treating of an entire engine for the same price as Buschur and SBR charge for the block alone. And no core charge to boot. For the record, I don't care about the cryo-treating. I don't think that it adds value, but it shouldn't hurt the engine either.
3. Their website ( http://gearracing.com/ ) has no way to contact them except some kind of e-mail type submission. No phone number. No address.
4. I e-mailed them asking for a complete detailed parts list and a full spec sheet on the machining, boring, porting, etc. No response yet, but I only e-mailed them less than 24 hours ago. The listing says that you will get mic specs on the bore of each cylinder, compression specs on each cylinder, as well as port specs on the heads and manifolds with the motor, so they should be able to provide that info prior to purchase. They claim it can handle over 600hp, so they should be able to provide a parts list as support of their claim.
5. The condition is listed as remanufactured, but they say it has 0 miles on it. is this standard for a remanufactured engine? Can they say this if they are using a used block and/or head to start with?
6. The listing says that the intake manifolds are fully ported. I hope this is just a typo since there's only 1 intake manifold, right? They most likely mean the intake and exhaust manifolds, right?
7. Their shipping calculator seems inflated a bit. They are in Tampa, FL, I put in my zip (53925) and it came up with $544. It shouldn't cost more than $300 to ship this, should it?
I'm sure I'll come up with more questions, but it's a start.
If anyone has any previous experience with this company or knows any more about them, I'd appreciate what you can share. Any of your thoughts on the motor are appreciated as well.
I don't want to spend a bunch of cash on a motor from these guys and have it end up being crap. But at the same time, I don't want to spend more than I have to if these are legit.
Thanks in advance.
Jimmy
