Ok I have been looking into starting to build a whole new set up and the full garrett T3 turbo's have caught my attention the most. I was very interested in this GT30R from slowboy http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=6125& Because of the 3" 4 bolt exhaust outlet and the TO4S port shroud compressor cover. And of course there is always the famous GT35R. The car would be mainly a weekend driver and track car. I would be running a good ported race head with some 272 cams, SMIM, all fuel mods, etc. The main problem I am running into is what type of short block. Would you guys reccomend a 2.0 or a 2.1. I want to be able to rev it fairly high so i am trying to stay away from the strokers as much as possible but i am looking for a quick spool. Around 4000rpm would be amazing. I would love to stick with the regular 2.0 and would use either ross pistons with pauter, crower, or oliver rods. 8:5:1 compression. Which combo do you think would be best and would you reccomend different pistons or rods for this set up? What kind of spool times could I expect from the 30r and would it be better to just go for the 35r? What kind of numbers are you guys out there with the GT30R putting down on the dyno and the track? If I were to get the 30R i would get a .63 A/R but would the 35R be better with the .63 or the .82?My last question is which place would be the best to build my short block? Buschur, AMS, or Slowboy. I have searched all of this stuff before but everyone has a different set up and most of it turns out to be arguements instead of answers.
Thanks for the help guys.
