Like the title states im going to be replacing my rear main seal, but i was wondering if anyone had more of a detailed instructions on how to fix it besides in the haynes manual? Its just kind of sketchy on some things and was wondering if anyone had a faq for it.

Just follow the steps involved for a clutch job. Remove the flywheel and you're looking at the rear crank seal. The seal just "picks" out with a small screwdriver or something similar. Be careful NOT to scratch or score the sealing surface on the crank. Install the new seal and put it all back together.

You will need to make a tool to stop the flywheel from turning. I went to the local hardware store and picked up a short piece of unistrut and a longer (~4" long) tranny bolt, then used one of the pressure plate bolts to tie it down (cost = ~$3).
