420a turbo spark plug gap

I need to know if anyone knows what the best spark plug gap is for a 420a turbo? for the stock engine it says .44 and then i read here on dsmtuners that some people are gapping theirs to .28 or .32, but i am assuming that is for the 4g63t. obviously the larger the gap the bigger the combustion, but is .44 too large of a gap without having an msd or something of that nature? can anyone help?
