Hey, for anyone rockin a fidanza clutch, I was just wanting to get an opinion on if the throw out bearings that come with the clutch kits are any good. I've heard that ACT tob are junk, so i'm wondering if the fidanza ones are just as bad or if they work just fine. Thanks. :thumb: ?:notgood:

The only drawback to the old ACT throw-out bearings (they fixed the problem on the newer ones) was that it had a metal sleeve where it met the input shaft on the transmission. The problem with that is that over time the metal sleeved TOB will wear out the input shaft. The OEM ones are plastic, so the actual bearing gets the wear instead of the input shaft. It comes down to what you would rather replace...a $30 bearing or $250 input shaft.

If the sleeve is plastic, you should be ok, but I've always done OEM bearings on clutch jobs regardless.

def get an oem tob, I got the fidanza 3.2 clutch and I used the tob it game with and it makes soooooo much noise. Now I have to pay for a new tob and pay someone to install it, huge headache. And who knows how much damage it has caused in the 3-4k its been installed. Anyone know if a bad tob can ruin any other components?

x 2 for an OEM TOB.

New Fidanza TOB has a plastic inner sleeve. May just keep it as a spare . . .

Oh crud...

Now you guys have me worried... I bought my car with an ACT 2600 with ACT TOB... it has started to sing on me.... now I'm worried about what kind of carnage I can expect when I replace it...
