hey everyone im 18 and this is my first experience with a 4 bangin tuner. i just bought my 95 gsx for 800 and trew a new motor in it. i was pinched for cash so i decided to play my luck with ebay. well so far my luck is holding up. first of all the auction ended for 400 flat like the rest of them pretty much, and i paid for it with a credit card online. theres a shipping fee of 50$ that everyones aware of im sure, except on the final price online i selected a rate of 400$ flat... less than a week later it was on my doorstep, so i paid an unbeatable flat rate of 0$ for shipping, #### yeah. so if anyone is actually contemplating one of these damn things try paying for it online like i did the $ field is blank.
well moving forward. i welding in the oil field at the time i was installing the turbo, so i basically just used 3, 2",40 wall 45's and pieced together a o2 housing with what im saying is the worst ever designed flange, but never the less it worked. this is my time working with turbos so im not quite sure if the 2" is going to cut it for this hog???
for my jpipe i used one 2" rubber 90 to connect turbo to a plastic 2"90 which and from there i used 2" Poly(irrigation tubing) down to another 90 and then straight to my intercooler. the polys rated at 100 psi, i might be a noob but id recomend this, its lighter and has ply and sense i live in mich. IT WONT RUST, YAY. im going to use it when i put my fmic in.
the fittings that came with/for the ss oil lines didnt fit so i had to take 4 diff. brass fittings from the auto store to make that work. it also came with like 20 parts that strickly had no significance to the installtion. and other than my header turning black everything came in decent shape. after the installation i preped the tubro and was about 5 minutes into the burn in when the alt. once i finally replaced that i was crossing my fingers a little bit but it started right up and there was not a lick of smoke coming from that thing. i didnt get a chance to pick a boost gauge up so i just put the weakest spring in it. i was impressed with its performance. so far its holding, but i still havent picked up a boost valve and i cant really get on her anyway because the snows here. ever sense the cold hit and snow finally started shes been runnin real ruff... the spare alt went out it and now (w/bad alt using just batt) it wants to run below 800 rpms no matter what the screw is set to.. if i use the throtle and hold it steady higher than 1500 rpms its purs, but between 800 and 1500 im getting what sounds like a chugging kinda low poping sound thats driving me nuts. when i unplug the mas the car will idle, to me maybe its running way to lean now... i did take the combs out to lean her fast. im thinking my bunk alt. could be another possibilty.. not sure.. im also on E maybe bunk fuel.. i did get a chance today to take her out on the road for a quick rip i thought the condition with the poping was getting worse cause i had nothing and she didnt want accellerate at all, but im sure im just out of go go juice. other than that i like what im seeing from the wet floating bearing style turbo. when the alt was goin the nighboors were pissed cause it was to loud haha. impressive little americanized toys arrrgghh!!! thanks yall for readin.
