Maybe i should sell it on ebay as a flux capacitor then..

The only thing i can even think of is that the kid who owned my car before me used it as a pipe, but it doesnt smell like anything but that greasy smell.

It's the induction mechanism for the boost fluid accumulator. Whatever you do, do not lose it as it will be just about impossible to find another one, and when the time comes that your boost fluid needs replenisment, there you'll be, looking like a fool. They are not interchangeable from car-to-car, so you cannot borrow one. Also, it does not interchange with the blinker hydraulics calibrator.

I have no idea what it is, but you can be sure his dad is having six kinds of caniption fit trying to find the goddamned thing for whatever tool of his it goes to.

And since it is from a 1g, it is probably leaking and needs to be replaced. The black stuff on it shows signs of a failing capacitor part.

You probably clamp it to your tailpipe and stick an emissions (or O2) sensor in it.

We use larger versions in the industrial field to test for stratafication of Catalytic Convertor beds, emissions testing or what not.

Just a somewhat educated guess after reading about it, though.
