wastegate on 16g vs 14b...

are they the same wastegates? can you put a 14b WG on it?

Yes, my friend bought a 16g and put a 14b wastegate on it, we seem to not be able to find why it cannot hold more than 12lbs even with an mbc but besides that it worked good. we did have to modify and drill a new hole for the wastegate where it bolts to the comp housing though.

oh that sucks. well its good that it works but sucks that not more then 12 pounds...

I am not saying its a wastegate problem it should be holding more boost, that is just how my friends car is acting. It is pretty jacked up and we thought the new 16g would help and transfered over the wastegate, that has been his problem forever.

does your friend use external w.g or something because i hear the 16g turbos actually have problems running low boost and that they creep high on stock w.g. set ups.

Yes its definetly the wastegate thats making it only boost 12 Pounds.Small 16g have horrible creep Big 16g dont creep near as much,
