I've got a bit of a problem here.. I just replaced an old Alpine CD player with a new Pioneer. The alpine supported the power antenna. However, the Pioneer doesnt. While my Pioneer gets perfect reception even with the antenna down, I was wondering if there is any way to make the antenna raise automatically when the car is turned on.

Just hook the power antenna wire to the output wire for an amplifier. Your Pioneer should have one, if you bought a decent one. That way when you turn on the head unit, it will send the signal to the antenna motor, and when you shut it off, it will power down.

EDIT: Just tell me your model number of the head unit, and I will post a pic of what wire you should splice into for the power antenna.

Yep, solid blue for antenna, and blue with white stripe for amp. Will work fine for antenna also. Certain model radios do not come with the solid blue.

Swap in a S2000 antenna. It looks cleaner IMO, and gets great reception. :0) Installation was not complicated at all.
