Ok i just took off my head on my 1st gen w/ the driver side motor mount gone. There is a jack stand holding up the motor under the oil pan. Now is it safe to take out the jack stand so i can remove the rods and pistons by taking off the oil pan?

If the other 3 mounts are still in place.............no worries.

With the driver's side mount removed, as long as the crossmember remains, you're safe.
