I searched for a while and did not find an answer.... and yes, another thread by me unfortunatly LOL

I recently bought the Palm lllx with software and cables from driver70 on ebay. I installed plam desktop as well as palm'n stein and mmcd.

I logged a few runs in the laser, but i can't figure out how to get the logs onto my computer. The palm device doesn't showup under "my computer", and it won't let me hotsync if that's even what im supposed to do.

My question is: How do I get the logs from my palm on my computer so i can post them?

Any help would be great, sorry if this has been answered before...

I'm only familiar with MMCd so I'll only explain for that program. Connect the Palm to the computer. If you have the Palm desktop installed then look in that folder for the Hot Sync Manager & make sure it is open - you will see a blue/red circular arrow icon in the System Tray when it's running. Make sure Local USB or Local Serial is selected as appropriate for your Palm connection. Perform the Hot Sync operation & the files will be exported to your computer. If you have MMCd Tools installed they will be exported in .csv & .xls format so you can view them via a CSV Viewer or MS Excel. If you have problems with the Hot Sync operation, try just searching for "Hot Sync" - there have been lots of posts about this & your settings may differ slightly with different Palms. ;)

danny: I want to get the logs onto the computer, that link didn't explain it to me.

Grommit: thanks for the help, I see the icon in the system tray on my comp., but when I click View Log an error message comes up. It says the log file C:\program files\palmOne\evan\Hotsync.log cannot be found. I foudn the hotsync option on the datalogger but am still unable to figure out how to get the logs onto my computer.

I will search for hotsync in the forums even though I've allready done so. thanks guys, ill post back the results:laser:

Success! After reading speedy-talon's post on an older hotsync thread, I was able to get the logs onto my computer right into Excel. Apparently I had IR selected instead of cradle/cable so problem fixed!

I appreciate all your help guys and will post the logs in a seperate thread. O yeah and which is best to log, a 2nd or 3rd gear pull or both?

PROBLEM...When I open the logs with excel the only thing that comes up is the name of the log and the date. That's about it. There's no numbers or columns. I don't know what I have to do, I just searched all of the mmcd->excel threads and no one had the same problem as me.

It might be something simple, but at the moment I am unable to see the numbers corresponding to rpm, knock, etc....

Ok, I got the numbers to show up im just having trouble spacing everything properly. How would I get rid of all those empty squares?

thanks again guys, I cannot wait to post the logs!

Sorry it's so messy, I spaced it as best I could. I copy and pasted it because I was unable to find out how to import the excel document I saved as a weppage onto the forums.

This was either a 2nd or 3rd pull I forget, it was also not at WOT I think so that may affect things right?

Can someone tell me what these number mean? is my car running allright?
