6-bolt

After having some bad experiences, I wanted to make sure my engine was a stroker. The person that I bought the car from said the engine was a 6-Bolt stroker and had some documetation. Mostly for the TRE transmission, but some on the motor. From the oil pan I knew that it was a 6-Bolt, but couldn't tell if it was stroked. So I read on how to talk the oil pan off while the engine was in the car. Hopefully I would see the "64" stamped on the crank, but I didn't. I did see the number "52" and a symbol, please see the pics below. I believe it is a Hyundai crank, but I am not a expert on DSMs, hence my 2nd post in this forum. I tried to measure and it looks like the stroke is 10cm. I added a pic below. Also, the seller said it had forged internals. Can anyone identify the internals used? Thanks for all the help.

rods dont look like forged. i cant really tell if the pistons are forged. in my gst, we put forged eagle rods and wiseco pistons, looking at the rods they dont look like forged eagle (commonly used for stroker). This is just my opinion, anyone else pls chime in!

The pistons look pretty new, and possibly aftermarket. The rods look factory to me, and the crank I am not really sure about so I wont say too much about it. Is there any way you can possibly get another pic of that rod with some more light?

the pistons look like they are aftermarket, rods look stock, and while it would appear that the stroke is 100mm, the way you measured it is hard to tell. I also can't get much perspective to see the throw, but I would assume you have a stroker.

The easy way to tell is with a depth gauge through the spark plug hole. find TDC, and then compare cyl1 and 2

Sorry about the shots. I left my breaker bar at my mom's house, so I couldn't turn the crank. Thanks for the tip on the depth charge measurement. Form the pic, the engine is almost Top Dead Center. I can measure it tonight.

Anyone know the HP rating on stock rods? I am planning on 500hp at the wheels, so ~600hp at the crank. I have the AWD model. From the forums, people suggest if you are going over 450whp, it is good to go with forged. I will probably pull the engine and replace the rods for peace of mind. Also, when I pull the head, I can tell more info about the piston.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I am only planning on running about 300whp for daily driving. Then have the Mad Max mode with 500whp. I am going to get the same switch from the movie to change the modes. Thinking about getting the MFP logos on the side of the car.

Mad Max was the movie that got me into cars. Always like the Supercharger switch idea, even though it was fake in real life. A lot easier to change boost levels, with good tuning.
