Ok so today i go and start my car for the first time in two months. It runs for about 5 minutes and then dies. I go to restart it and it just clicks in the center console area and does not start. So I am thinking the caps have gone out, but this ecu is like 8 months old. So I grab my other ecu which is an eprom but for a 91 not a 90 thinking it should at least start but I end up with same results clicking. This was also with a battery charger on it so it was getting enough juice. So i was wondering what would make both of the ecu's click when they both were working fine a couple months ago?

It clicks about about once maybe twice everytime i turn the key, and all the dummy lights go off like its trying to start but when i release the key they light back up.

1gs might be different but there is a stsrter relay behind the radio and that might be bad.You might want to check that.

Starter problems. That is the easiest way to tell is when your lights all dim then brighten back up. The starter is drawing huge amount of amperage trying to turn over but something isn't allowing it too. Test the connections on your starter. First put a voltmeter on your battery and see how much it sucks down to when you turn the key on. If it pulls down to like 9V then its the starter.

Alright i'll try the starter thing as a matter of fact my starter has been screwy lately like it grinds on the flywheel insanely and it's a brand new starter that I got off a buddy of mine. I was actually surprised when it actually started today. Think thats another portion of this problem?

I would check the teeth on the flywheel as well as the starter. Even though you can't really install one wrong because there is no shimming required it maybe have had something pinched between the starter and the bellhousing not causing it to mess correctly.

Yeah I just pulled the starter out and it seems overlooked the the starter bolts and they are two different lengths. Which I don't thing that is suppose to be that way. It also looks like the teeth on the starter on only engaging maybe halfway at the most so I think the bolts are my problem.
