Okay, well my friends GST needed the MDS sensor so he could pass DEQ. I let him borrow it, and he hooks his onto mine. I get a CEL. Afterwards he gives it back, I put mine back on and I reset the ECU, by taking the negative battery terminal off for 15 mins. I put hte neg. battery terminal back on, turn the car on, and the CEL light goes away for a little bit, my clock on the cd player is still the same, and my car idles very shitty like its about to die, idles at about 200-300rpms, which is very low.

After I turn the car off after some driving, and then turn it back on the CEL comes back on and the car idles fine.

So what is the problem? How do I fully reset the ECU? Does anyone know what the idle problem may be? Is it the ISC? I know I need to test the ISC but, I'd like to know if its somehting else.

Thanks

*EDIT* I didnt want to make two threads wasting dsmtuner space and cluttering it up, but what should my boost gauge be reading? All I have is a greddy RS BOV, I'm gettin 17 psi, which doesn't sound right. BCS is taken out by the way.

Disconnecting the battery for an extended period of time should reset the ECU. If you continue to get CLEs after reconnecting the battery I suggest going to AutoZone and have them read the code and report back. You can have them try and clear the code but if it keeps returning then obviously something isn't right. Without knowing what code you're throwing, it's impossible to tell you 'what's wrong'

Its the MDS sensor, I already know what code it is, but my car wont reset the ECU, are you telling me I have to disconnect the battery for more than 15 mins?

No need to disconnect the battery, open up the fuse box and pull out the Yellow fuse, it will not come all the way out but it will be disconnected. Leave it up for a few minutes then pop it back in. It should reset the ecu without any difficulties. I did it last night after replacing the o2 sensor and it worked great.
