ok ive searched the NO SPARK issue.
im helping a friend who just bought a 90 gst that wasnt running for $400.00.Were not getting any spark(no signal to the coil)were going to check the cas on saturday. When last i was over to his house i took my ecu,and some tools. When i inspected the engine i found that the head was either new or recently replaced.Which tells me that all the sensors were disconected,so i started tracing the wiring harness to be sure everything was pluged in properly.
This is when i found that the knock sensor was destroyed, the entire back half was missing , leaving only the metal body screwed into the block.Would this cause no signal to the coil ?would the ECU not reading a knock sensor not signal for spark?
im just doing a little info gathering before the saturday work.i wouldnt want to spend 2 hours chasing the wrong lead.were going to replace the knock sensor ,check the cas and install my ecu.
Anything else i should look for or check would be appriciated.

A dsm will start with no knock sensor. It would just cause some poor gas mileage probably. If you don't have any spark, check the basics.

1. Correct order of spark plugs
2. Cas
3. Coil
4. Igniter

Good luck. :thumb:
