I have a good problem. My1g awd is making to much power for my "good" stock clutch. I've been running 18psi on my evo III 16g for a year and a half. I think I'm close to a good tune, because last night I managed to have the clutch slip at "highway speeds"(4k-up) in 3-5th gears. I know need a new clutch, but I"m torn between my v-8 roots (big block fords) and my new passion(turbo dsm's). I am considering either the centerforce dual friction or the act 2600 with a street disc. I am looking for experience because I like the driveability of the centerforce(I've installed and driven a few domestics and turbo subarus with them); but I'am very aware of the perfotmance history of the act 2600 wsith a strret disc. Basicaly I am looking for someone to convince me that I would be a retard to go with what I'm comfortable with instead of what I'm sure will work. I would also like to install act's streetlight flywheel as I have installed them with great success, but I am on something of a tight budget.

P.S. Pease forgive any spelling/grammer mistakes.......stressed, buzzed, inlaws....all sympathies welcome. Happy Turkey Day.

stock flywheel and centerforce. Its what I ran in my 1g awd and never had any problem with it, pedal pressure was nice and smooth. Also allowed me to launch rather nicely :)

Im sure if you'll search this has been brought up many times and it would be easy to make a decision.

^^^ The centerforce w/stock flywheel is nice for everyday driving but if you ever have plans for taking the car to the track or launch the car much then ACT 2600 all the way. :thumb: That centerfoce loved to burn on launches, the ACT has yet to slip or burn on me.
