i just bought 3 quarts of bg synchroshift as well as both shifter bushing sets to improve the shifting experience on my dsm! I got them both off of ebay for about $100 alltogether. I was just wondering if this will actually make a noticeable difference because right now its real hard to get it into some gears :(

also, the brakes aren't so good so should i just replace the front rotors and all pads or everything?

i just want my car to be running strong in all areas, especially shifting and stopping. any input is appreciated, thanks guys ;)

edit: im also selling a palm pilot on ebay so i can get a cheaper one with software, and i have searched but cannot find the cable to plug into our ecu's. i have only seen "make your own" cables and id would rather buy one LOL if anyone knows where i can get the cable as well as the software post the link please!

The shift kit should make your shifting more accurate and new trans fluid is never bad. If your rotors aren't bad just replace the brakes. I use hawk HPS and absolutely love them. Nice and quiet. Very little dust. Can't say the same for EBC green's though. Complete opposite in my experience. My GSX has the dual piston caliper which have been pretty darn good to me. If you don't have the duals you can find some cheap on the classifieds or on Ebay.

yeah i guess my rotors are allright i mean the car doesnt stop easily tho, if i get the dual piston brakes wont i need to replace everything? i dont want to say im looking for a cheap fix, i just dont want to pay more than like 2-3 hundred for awesome stopping power. ill look around though thanks, any other ideas are welcome as well

A pair of dual piston calipers, GSX drilled/slotted rotors and pads. A great set-up. You can also upgrade the brake lines, too.

Slotted rotors are ok, but I wouldn't recommend drilled rotors because the drilled holes can cause fractures in the rotor causing it to break at the worst possible time. Do a search and you will see what I mean. There are several members who have documented their experiences with them.

I have installed both the shifter and transmissions bushing kits plus BG lube in my '90 Laser RS-T and it solved all my shifting problems. This is a great thing if you have good synchronizers. I suggest that you carefully do a shifter adjustment for best results. You may have to repeat it a few times to get it to the optimum settings for your driving style.

the hope of shifting well sounds amazing, i think my synchros are good i mean usually its just notchy going into gear and has only "grinded" a few times. With the bushings and multiple adjustments i hope to be able to shift well without replacing the tranny, which i do NOT want to have to do. is this a temporary fix though?

about the brakes: should i just buy the brake setup off of a gsx ( i have a gst tho is it the ok?) from a junkyard or ebay? theres some deecent deals on ebay im just afraid of getting crap for rotors/pads.

dual piston seems the way to go, def dont want drilled, so ill go slotted i guess. any good sites to get them?!
