MAP sensor on the 2G is used as a back-up incase the MAF goes bad. It will go into limp-mode, but will be able to get you home. I would just leave it, as unplugging it would probally throw a code (CEL) on the OBD-II systems.

i have a 6 bolt in a 2g with 2g ecu... if i disconnect the MAP and plug its vacuum line i know itll throw a code but will it put me in limp mode? my MAF is fine

Its not like a 3 bar map sensor because its not a map sensor. It is a MDP Manifold differential pressure sensor, it doesnt work like a map sensor at all, just thought I would clear that up and it is not needed but may throw a code, if you dont have dsmlink or something on those lines.

thanks for your help guys its greatly appretiated:rocks:

Yes you can take it out and there will be no performance Issue's. I don't run one.

And thanks Skunked for clearing that up I knew it was something like that but wasn't 100% sure. :thumb:
