The MAS modifications referred to in step 1 come from the Stage 0 or "free" mods. Check out that list in the upgrade section. What it refers to is "hacking" the MAS (mass airflow sensor) by removing the lower honeycomb to allow greater airflow. A search of this site which yield gobs of info about this topic, both pro & con.

If you're not already familiar with them, these 2 sites have lots of useful info, too, especially basics like terminology & whatnot:

1. Air Filter, Cat-back, Boost Gauge, Downpipe, Port your o2, If you have a 2g get a 1g bov, maybe a boost controller and fuel pump its up to you.

getting 2g mas is not that simple. if you do end up getting it, you will also need something to compensate for all the extra air coming in....something like a SAFC

if you do plan on getting a 2g mas, get injectors and tuning/logging device with it. definitely not stage 1 upgrades.

stick to:

1. removing bottom honeycomb off of 1g mas & new filter (maybe intake pipe if you have the money, and if you dont, you can make one... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79528. its kinda fun! :thumb: )

2. catback, turbo back if you have the money....2.5 or 3"

3. Boost gauge and boost controller for sure....can find for cheap on classifieds

4. sixty dollar 2g manifold and see if you can find it already ported.

5. port turbo and/or o2 housing

6. fuel pump would be good but not really necessary yet

so yeah about the 1g mas modification...try taking the intake out of the car. the whole "pipe" and everything. then disconnect the filter and look at the mas. instructions are so much easier to understand when you have the actual part in front of you as you are reading.

good luck
