Installing a 3"turbo back Megan racing this weekend, just had a slight concern about if I would have any spike problems with boost? Or anything else I should be aware of?

Also, for future reference, I've been doing a lot searching threw the forum, what would be my best choice for a boost controller, for running max 15psi on a stock fuel system? Including that I'm going to upgrade my intake and IC piping to a blow-thru setup?

Thanks for all comments/help, Austin.

You will not have spike problems if your vacuum lines are connected properly (which they probably are since you don't even have an MBC yet).

You will not have boost creep issues if your turbo is stock, functioning properly, or ported propery(which it probably is totally stock since you sound like you're just starting out).

MBCs are simple contraptions. Hallmans are proven in my book and are fairly priced.
BOOST GUAGE with MBC. No exceptions. I use an autometer myself. Some people have had problems with them malfunctioning after a year or two, but their customer service is superb and will replace a defective unit with minimum hassle. I have been lucky and have been running one for almost 2 years with no problems.

... your stock intake setup can handle lots of power. Just get a intake/filter of some sort (your "drop in K&N" is fine for now). Think about blow-through when you are overrunning your 1g MAF.

Awsome man, thanks for the reply. Well I just bought this car beginning of last month, completly stock, 1990 GSX 5 speeder with only 77k miles on her, owned by an older lady from Georgia, car was very well dealer maintained, so when I modify this thing, I wanna do it correct the first time.

Just want to know what to expect...thanks again.

Full set of gauges going in this weekend :)

Welcome to DSMs. The car sounds nice, I'm kinda jealous cause it's been impossible for me to find a 1G I want. Don't bother with a "full set of guages" right now. Boost is all you need, maybe EGT if you feel like it. Save your money and buy power mods. :)

Joe P is also an excellent mbc and it is reasonably priced. If you don't mind paying more, hallman is also good. It really depends on what you want, some people buy them off ebay and others make their own and have no problems. But since you want to do it right the first time, I would recommend Joe P

I'll second the Joe P. I have it and it works great but it's really up to you. These are all great choices.

If all you are going to do is run around 15psi.. Just remove the restrictor in the BCS. You should have around 14-15psi.

I remember when I just had the catback, K&N filter and all the free mods.. MY car was so fun to drive and I could drive it everywhere without worrying about it.
