I read the post by the guy with the second gen and this is a problem that sounds very similar to what is happening to my first gen. I didn't want to ask a question on top of a question. Is it a possibility that my car is pulling timing too? I thought it was the exhaust manifold and im sure its cracked but my boost likes to spike sometimes. (straight to 14) Would shortening the vaccum lines have the same affect in my first gen? And do i just cut the vaccum lines and reconnect them?

manual boost controller? if its the homemade junk you need to drill a bleeder also check make sure your wastegate is working properly

Start simple before you start messing with your timing. Look at your MBC. Chances are it has one line going to the wastegate, and the other line going to the BOV-Intake Manifold line. Take out that tee, replace with a straight fitting. Take your MBC line and connect to your compressor housing or j-pipe.

If your MBC is not connected to your BOV, post a reply and we will further diagnose.

In the future please do a search first. This topic is beyond beaten to hell.
