Went to evil_eagle today and he did a compression test. Compression test he came up with today was 125/120/115/125. Learned something new today. So, I guess what I have come to believe in the past is wrong, it doesnt really matter if you take out all the plugs at the same time when doing a compression test or taking the plugs out one cylinder at a time. The compression test result wont differ, the motor will just turn over easier with all the plugs taken out at the same time. Anyways back on topic. Confirmed motor has problems. I will be taking the head off hopefully if time permits next week. Then from there, depending on my findings, its's decisions, decisions... I guess I'm getting detonation in cylinder 2 since there is silverish small specs on the plug in this cylinder. Which could have been caused from the maf that the car came with was hacked both on upper and lower honeycombs. So he said my problems could be one of or a combination of the following....

Bad head gasket. Due to too much pressure in my upper radiator hose.
Bad rings.
Bad valves.
Melted piston in cylinder 2

Hopefully it wont take much to get my motor running, very limited funds.

A lot of people referred me to evil from my local area and I would have to say I'm glad there is someone in my area that knows their stuff. He apparently knows his stuff, he's got the numbers to prove it.

Okay guys. Another question. I forgot to add to my previous post something I found out yesterday when Jake (evil_eale) looked at my car. I guess he knows the guy I got the talon from, who also has a 92 talon that was having some problems with his motor due to low compression. So now I am wondering since he made a comment that the exhaust manifold might have come from the 92 talon that had motor problems, if the motor in the talon I picked up is the one out of the 92 that was bad. So here's the question. The seller told me it was a 6 bolt motor, I have not confirmed this since I have not opened up the motor yet. I have checked the oil pan per vfaq and it appears to be a 6 bolt, but is it possible to have a 7 bolt motor and just put 6 bolt oil pan on the motor? Thanks members.

6bolt oil pan wont fit on a 1g 7bolt motor, I tried.
Sorry to hear about your engine! I'm still recovering from my spun bearing.

Good luck!

Thanks blackbyrd. Yeah it sucks that motor is running like crap. Part of having a project car right, that is fixing stuff. Knowing you cannot fit a 6 bolt oil pan to a 7 bolt motor makes me feel better. If I do need to do rebuild I dont want to rebuild a 7 bolt. That is good to hear that I have a 6 bolt. Spun bearing, that sucks too. Sorry to hear that. Good luck to you as well. Thanks again.

Ya im in the same boat as you are, just rebuilt the motor, the guy who did it for me i didnt realize was a cheap bastard, put my car together like shit but the motor runs strong, jsut got the trans rebuilt by Devo, still breaking that in, my oil pan leaks like a bi***, my turbos going, serious shaft play, in and out, radiator leaks bad, put stop leak in it, did the trick for now, downpipe leaks, need new one, exhaust manifold cracked, need new one, 02 housing stud stripped, want a 2G one neway, ugh the price you have to pay to drive an old DSM, but i love my car and will never sell it, good luck with your motor, i hope its nothing serious.
