Edmonton,
since winter has begun and i've been driving around my car has a couple new noises. First off my belts have started squeaking even though i had a whole timing belt kit re done about 4k ago... so do you guys think i could go tell them they screwed up on putting the belts on ?? And also, now when i steer, my car makes a creaking sound like an old wooden chair and also when i go over bumps, so i'm thinking my ball joints are gone..... does this sound accurate? What should i do help please

Belts only squeaks for two reasons.

1. They are old, not in your case.
2. They need tightening.

So I would def tighten your belts. The creaking sound that you describe sounds like your ball joints; which is lifetime recall. Call the dealership, and ask to have the ball joint recall perrformed.

well i live in canada so im really hoping the recall is for here as well.... should i just call up the chrysler delearship??? And sorry im pretty new to the whole car scene and i don't really know how to go about tightening my belts.... thanks for the replies so far

to do the t-belt you need to take off all the accessory belts, it's probably one of them that's noisy, they're all very easy to tighten, the power steering you juststick a crow bar or whatever inbetween it and where it mounts, pry it out and tighten down, the AC and Alternator belts both have a set bolt you losen, and then tighten another bolt which will tighten the belt, then once done you tighten up the set bolt again.. the Alt. adjustment is front driver side corner of the car, AC is right near the firewall on the same side...

wooden chair type creaking could be a number of things, right now the bushings on my camber kit on the upper control arm are making this same noise.. now if only fedex hadn't lost half of the shipment includign my new camber kit.... anyway.. jack up front of the car and move the wheel all around until you find what is making the noise.. could just be a bushing.

Yes, call them up, and asked if the Ball Joint recall was performed on your car. If they say no, schedule a day to bring it in to get it performed. If they say yes, tell them to the ball joints are failing again and you want the recall performed again.
