Long story short, I installed my own alarm. Lacking the proper tools to do it right, there were a few small glitches in the wiring but nothing major. I went back to fix everything and I've ran myself into a wall with the following problem(s):

a) I blew an inline fuse coming from the brain (replaced) being an idiot, but now no electronic control of the door lock works--switch, or alarm control, (no click from relay either) but I can't find the relay for the door locks (I've looked behind my stereo and there are two relays but I cant discern as to which It is.) I've even unplugged all of my wires + check fuses.

b) Just to make sure, Is our locking mechanism (99 Eclipse N/t) a positive driver-relay/negative, or multiplex (so i can correct the wiring).

c) Sometimes even after disarming the alarm system w/ keyless entry, the 'stock' horn-beeping happens. I thought the stock system disarmed w/ unlock pulse?

Any and all help, maybe a pic or a diagram for the relay would be most appreciated, thanks.

The factory lock relay for a 2g is behind the radio and it is the one closets to the passenger side. Plus if your car has factory keyless your will have a second relay behind the drivers side wall next to the back seat. And your car is a negative pulse for lock and unlock. As for the afactory horn going off the factory alarm only shuts off if you use the factory remote. But there is a wire to disarm the factory alarm/ Which the aftermarket alarm should have a factory disarm wire that you would need to hook to that wire. But also your factory alarm should not arm unless you lock the doors with the factory switch on the door, use the factory remote, or lock it with the key.

Thankyou, but now I have another question, The car came with an alarm in it (not sure if also aftermarket) but there was a 'brain' and it had 'autopager' on it. Anyways, The guy who installed that one did a worse job than I did (I didn't really do that bad, just didnt know the color codes) and when he spliced into the wires for door switch/lock/unlock, he changed all the colors of the wires so I have learned those, Looking at this relay I'm clueless on which leads to where.

Blue is the passenger side lock/unlock (right?)
black w/ red is +12v? if you could help me with those colors, thanks.
especially that factory disarm wire color.
Thanks

No it is the leftmost relay of the two (closest to drivers side). The right one is the starter relay.

I do think it's the right-most one. The left most has yellow clips and only 4-5 wires (and larger gauge too), the right-hand side relay has a few more wires and has the recognizable colors-- brown/brown-white... you know...

Anyways, so I got to tearing down my car tonight, and yes, I do have the factory keyless entry system. No matter what I unplugged/plugged, I have no electronic control over my locks whatsoever. Even when I use the key on the driver side door, the passenger side dosen't lock and no 'security' light comes on.

I've checked all the fuses and completely dissasembled/removed the aftermarket alarm. Also, Don't ask me how I figured this out but if i unlock (manually) the doors, and then pull the harness out of the larger 'stock keyless box' the doors lock but only sometimes, sometimes it tries to lock but dosen't quite get there.

I'm getting a voltimeter tomorrow to try and check everything, but what are the continuity ratings for these relays? and which pins to a test on? If anyone has any kind of shot in the dark for me to test, I'm go. I need my locks ;\

and Lastly, If I were to unplug and remove the rear relay and keyless mentry box, would a non-defunct lock system continue to work? I'd imagine that that would be the new place for the 'brain' of the aftermarket alarm. Or do I need to continue using those relays?
