daytona swap

so i cant post anywhere else...i've searched. come up with nothing....whats the similarities and differences betwent the 2.2 turbo motor out of a daytona and the 420a...someone told me the block was the same but it was just a stroked motor? any info?

NO NO NO. Different motors completely. They are closer to the SRT-4 motor. Chrysler made the turbo 1,2 and 3 motors in the reliants, shadows, daytonas, some mini vans and so on. I had a 2.5 SOHC turbo 1 motor in my dodge shadow and it was a little beast. The 2.2 SOHC was a turbo 2 motor and the 2.2 intercooled DOHC in the shelby dodge's was the turbo 3 motor. It was also in the rare Daytona and Spirit RT

Yeah the engines have pretty much nothing in common. I owned a turbo 1 LeBaron GTC turbo coupe for my first car, and then a 420a Eagle Talon for my second. The blocks are not the same and the 2.5 is a much larger lower revving engine. I use the LeBaron for my winter beater, but it is a very fun car and easily modified like the turbo DSMs. Still not as fun as my GST though hah

What was the interest in these two engines by the way?

game plan was if the blocks were the same. to drop that motor in my talon. i was wanting info on whether or not it would fit in my car then i was gonna find a better head for it with better flow at high revs. probably a dohc from a neon or sometihn of the order. just an idea but i guess that one was blown out of the water
