Well seeing as my car will be undrivable until my fitting for my oil return comes which will probably be next monday..I was thinking what could I check, replace, DO with my time...Any suggestions would be great, this is a 115k mile 2nd gen btw...and I would like to keep anything I do in the next 4 days to only over the counter parts, nothing that ill end up stuck waiting on more orders for...Ive replaced all the normal filters, and vacuum lines valve cover gasket and even cleaned out the TB, fabbed up my own hard intake pipe with some left overs from my fiero...Anyway, smeone help me use up my spare dsm time with something constructive!! :dsm: :dsm:

change out your plugs unless you've already done that then detail the crap out of your engine bay (usually can spend a long time doing this). Run some sea foam through your motor also.

actually seafoam is the reason for the downtime....not that it did any damage but it brought my attention to a cracked manifold which led to me replaceing the oil return line and waiting for fitting...
plugs ive done already..

OOO OOO
thats nice...Im gonna try that...and then try and find a replacement when i hack it up.. :p
is that acrylic??

Replace your brake and clutch fluid. The hydraulic fluid absorbs water which makes your brake and clutch pedal feel spongy over time. You'll be able to feel the difference. There are threads on how to do this without getting air in the system. If you need help just ask.

Brake fluid theres another thing...
ok 2 so far :)
1 TBelt Window
2 Brake fluid
clutch fluids clean as i just put a new slave in...but that reminds me i have to adjust that rod cause the pedal engages damn near the floor..and its a brand spankin new clutch too..

In that case its a freebie for me cause ive got tons left over from my ventures into terrarium building...

Tri-Edge, I just noticed your in CT. You should have just went to one of the local race shops for that fitting. Capital Motorsports up in Ma. Northeast is in RI. I think there is one in CT called "Racers Edge". They probably would have had that fitting on hand.
I race at Stafford, but most of my stuff is 8An and 6AN, not 10An.
Just in case you run into that again, there are a bunch in the area.
Capital is really good and if you call during the day to make sure they have it, they can have it to you by the next day, ground since your in CT.

As far as what to do during the down-time, I'd definitely say get the anti-freeze all set for the winter. Along with some new blades for the freezing rain we always get. Also pack that emergency "kit". Nothing like being stuck in a blizzard.

Racers edge huh? never heard of it...It never even crossed my mind to try and find a store locally that sells em..duh
Im like 10min from the NY border...
Is there someplace to get listing of local DSM friendly parts place??
Antifreeze is going in new once the line comes in since my radiator is out, had to put some fans on and redo the wiring since the previous jackass/owner hacked it all up..

Not sure exactly on the "Racers edge" I thought I remember someone around the track that mentioned them. The other two are totally good though, at least for generic parts. Not really DSM specific, but they will have all of your braided line needs.
I bought one of my race cars last year from Fred Nees. He lives in New Milford. Randy Lajoie was one of his sponsors. Nice area down there. I also have been to Chemical Marketing a few times for business reasons too.

Not to sure about DSM shops there, but I think there are a few listed on this site that are in NY city area and a few in NJ. I'm sure there has to something along the shore too, you'd think..
