The Oil Gauge in my front panel of my 1st gen N/T is always on the low side. the electrician did test it and he says it is fine but dont know why it is always on the low side, and the oil in my car is high i have just change it. what could be the problem? is the oil gauge measures the oil quantity or the oil pressure? and what is my problem with the gauge always on low??

Get a mechanical oil pressure guage and tap it into the oil filter housing. that will give to a more accurate reading. Idle should be around 10-15psi with blanace shafts in place (some one please correct me if I'm wrong) and about 30psi at idle with balance shafts removed.
If it truely is low, I wouldn't drive it.

Mine ran at 20psi with shafts removed at idle. The owner before me installed in incorrectly and the damn line broke on me. Long story short all oil gone and very loud rod knock. I welded the #1 rod to the crank.

Mine reads around 15 psi at idle and I still have the balance shafts in. I am using a mechanical gauge as well.

Ok, to directly awnser your question your gauge reads the oil pressure. ( im sure you already got that ) Is the reading low at idle or even when you rev the motor? I had the same problem that turned out to be an oil leak right at the sending unit. I do agree with T is for Turbo though if it is always low you should get it fixed before you drive it alot. Low oil pressure can cause fatal harm to your motor at high revs. And a mechanical gauge is always the best way to go. Give us a little more info on whats going on.
