i own a 92 2.0 laser,i can buy a 91 1.8 eclipse automatic, mine is a stick.now how many parts can i use for my 92? the 91 automatic tranny is messed up.i 'm hoping things like the altenator, starter etc . will fit my 92.well thanks for reading. the reason i mentioned that the automatic tranny is messed up is in case, someone asked about it.

There are very few things you can swap over to your car.

The starter is about the only thing that will fit both engines. The 1.8 and 2.0 SOHC engines, eclipse vs galant motors, have the same tranny, so the starter will bolt up. However the alternator is different as the front cover assemblies are different thicknesses. The 2.0 is much thicker than the 1.8. If you are buying it for parts for your car, you won't get much other than some body parts, and interior parts.

Well depending on the condition of the body, you could sell the fenders, headlights, and hood for more than that.
