I've searched everywhere and can't find 4 bolt axle cups. I have a 4 bolt rear and axle's on the way right now. Does anybody know any sites that have used ones? The only place I haven't tried is local parts stores, but I highly doubt they can order them. I've searched online for who knows how long and never found anything. So I need your guys help, if anybody knows where I can get a pair or even if someone is selling a pair. Let me know!

How about site sponsor , mitsugraveyard ? Or one I like , car-parts.com .

Hmm, I drove to mitsu graveyard last week to see if they had a 4 bolt rear. No luck. I didn't ask them about the cups at the time. I've checked car-parts.com also. Unless I'm not looking good enough or in the right section, I can't find em on there. I'll have to check some of the site sponsors.

Try putting in a request for them they deal with junkyards and the junk yard will ship them to you when I was looking for my three bolt axle I couldn't find one but then used them and found like three places that had them. now I am in the middle of a four bolt swap picked everything up out of someone parting one out for $100 and four stiches when I was lifting the diff up and dropped it on my face. so be careful.

Good luck,
Brandon

Thanks. I'll check it out. Hopefully I can get my hands on a pair soon so I get can my car running.

A couple of places sent me an email saying that they have the part. Then when I call them they don't have it or don't know what an axle cup is. Is that the right word for it? Or is it called something else?

Are you talking about #5 in pic ?

That would be what he wants sorry the website I gave you didn't work out. make sure when they ask for a year to give them a year that had a four bolt and not your year. a 91 didnt come with a four bolt right.

That is what they call it in the haynes manual . But do you need the entire assembly or just the flange ? Look at post #10 by me .

Yeah, #6 in the picture you posted is what I need. I just need the flange. Nothing else.

No you want the flange listed below. The price should be a clue. The axle cups are about $50 each list. I think the last time I looked the 4 bolt ones were a little cheaper than the 3 bolt ones.

Under that search I did, there are only 2 companion flanges. The other one is the flange that the driveshaft connects to the diff. Could you please send me a link of what you're talkin about?

Use that link and click on #7 Just marked flange.
Look in the diagram even though it shows the picture of the 3 bolt version if you get the 92-94 version it should be the 4 bolt axle cup.

I prefer to use CAPS to get the part numbers and then use that to order the part

Thanks man. That's gotta be it. If you click on #7 it says it's for 92-94. I'll have to order em today even though they're $42 a piece. OMG I don't care, I just wan't to get my car running.

Bringing this back from the dead, but just want to clarify this.

I need part 7, which is 'flange', for the 92-94 which is the 4 bolt, i got a good deal on a 4 bolt rear end and axles (~$75), but no axle cups, he pulled them off his parts car before he wrecked it, and just unbolted what he could.

Even at $50/ea $175 for a 4bolt rear end is a steal. I just want to make sure i order the right parts.

Thanks!!, or do i also need parts 2,3,4,5,and 6 to make it work?

I was assuming you have a working existing 3 bolt currently. So you would remove the old diff, axles, unbolt the axle cup and remove it. Install the new 4 bolt axle cup (Flange) and torque it down. then install the 4 bolt diff and axles.

If you have a high mileage car or have signs of damage then you might want to replace the rear bearings. That's when you will need 2-6.

JNZ is slightly cheaper on the parts. The other site is now closed (as of March 2008).

Just 7, The rest you listed are bearings, seals, etc.

Thankyou. I will order the stuff soon, and i currently have a 3bolt rear end that is working fine.

Is there anything i will have to worry about as far as gear ratio's? Or are they all the same? Mines a 1990 with LSD.

The one im getting has a LSD tag on it as well. Thanks.

You have to worry about automatic vs manual. You have to the the diff that matches your transmission since the gear ratio differs between the two.

It was from a 5spd.. I believe it was from a galant? Im not exactly sure, i can find out though.

As long as it was 5spd im good to go? The guy im getting it from knows his stuff, since im green to most of this stuff with DSM's at the moment, i will see what he says, and report back here.
