one of my friends has a 1992 gst he ordered the evo 3 and i told him i would help him put it in.
well anyways he was reconnecting the top oil line for the turbo. the one that goes right into the head below the valve cover on the passenger side. well he stripped out the threads in the head , i didnt know until we went to start it up today and it was leaking oil i took the bolt out and the threads were on it.
does anyone know what i can do?
i was thinking about putting a helicoil into the head, would that work?
or maybe i could cap it off and run the oil line somewhere else
all suggestions and comments are much appreciated

Get a SS oil feed line that taps off of the oil filter housing. It is cleaner oil for the turbo.

This site's vendors sell them.

You can heli-coil it also. Just take your time and put grease on both the drill bit and the dye so that you don't get any metal shavings in the oil passage.

You can enlarge it a bit and retap it and use a SS line from the head, or plug it and use a line from the filter housing as has been suggested. For the turbo in question either way is quite acceptable.

I wouldnt use JB weld.

It breaks down under High heat. Found out the hard way. If you are going to plug off that hole, I would have it welded shut.

Like stated above, getting a SS feed line from the Housing isnt just a solution to your problem, its a better supply of oil, cleaner, More pressure.

plus that SS line looks cool
