OK i have done a search and can't find anything that points to my problem. I just put my maft in and am tuning it but i drove from NY to NJ and my AFC was saying like 30 knock but my logger was only saying 2-4 knock what gives? any info would be great. all my fuel trims are pegged at 100% but i know that i have to tune the mid a little more because my O2 trim creeps when i roll on the throttle:mad:

Don´t trust what the Safc tells you. It doesn´t give an exact reading. Trust your logger, and tune from that. If you got a maft, you can leave all the tables at 0 and just vent, or like some people do, tune a bit with the maft and then do a more fine tuning with the Safc.

Thats what i thought but i wanted to make sure i was on the right track. I am planning on tuning with the maft and then fine tuning with the AFC. I have been reading and thinking about fine tuning with the maft as i have the 2.02 version and it seams pretty good but the rpm mode seams a little tricky. I think i might actually just take it and have it fine tuned on a dyno with the AFC. I know enough to get a good base but not to good with the AFC

The Safc is actually easier to tune, because its inside the cabin. If you take it to a dyno then, it would be great, and im sure you can squeeze some good numbers. Just remember to have upgraded injectors and a fuel pump. Good luck. :thumb:

well i have a good base tune, and started tuning mid and high on my maft, but i am knocking more the logger is only reading up to 6 counts of knock but the AFC is showing up to 16 and I'm pulling timing. so now i am really confused as to what to tune with the counts on the logger or the AFC. and if i am knocking on the high side and i adjust the maft i run rich on the high fuel trim. also my low fuel trim is always lean so do i use the idle to adjust for the low trim? i have been doing some reading and i am starting to think that maybe my O2 sensor might be going out. any info will be great and if there are any knowledgeable maft users in the McGuire area let me know if you would be willing to help tune this system.

thanks again

chuck

well i still needt o test my o2 heater but i think the o2 is ok. I made some adjustments and the high trim is stickin at 97 but the o2 trim is is jumping between 87 and 103 and the low trim has come down to 111 so i ritchened my low up one click and leaned my high one click to see where it puts me. I did a 3rd gear pull and the yesterday and got 4 counts of knock and like 35* of timing so maby the new adjustments will bring them down. will return with results.
