Erractic boost after UICP and BOV swap

ok, so i just installed my RRE uicp along with a 1g bov. I went out to test drive and it pulled like crazy, but the boost was spiking as high as 16-17 then quickly jumping down to 13-15. I will have a boost controller by the end of this week but Is normal to have an increase like this when installing what i just did? is it safe? Also, when i let off and the boost guage is around 23-25 vaccum( i dont know if i said that right?), it makes a whistling sound like when a microphone gets to close to the speakers, what is this sound?is it normal? boost leak? but besides the two issues it pulls great and runs fine...Im a newb to dsm's so bear with me....thanks again,

Sounds like a leak . Get a boost controller .

even with a boost controller you will spike....you need to port your wastgate flapper (assuming you have an internal wastegate)

If you are still running the t-25 that will happen mine will spike to 21 or so then drop down to about 13. Small turbos for ya.

Its called boost creep...it happens when you add bolt ons and dont port the wastegate flapper in order not to creep...
