Boost problem

My car is a 95 Talon TSI that has been sitting up for a while after the wire from the ecu to the o2 sensor under the seat cought fire. ( Long Story) I have replaced the ECU, Wire to O2 sensor, and the o2 sensor near the catback aswell. There was some old gas, 2 years old, in the car that i had to burn off. Changed the spark plugs and wires but the car is not running well. Sputters, and jerks especially in low rpms. At idle the boost needle is about a quater way up the guage! Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Do you still have the old gas? Did you use any kind of stabalizer/moisture remover? Did you replace your fuel filter?

I would definatly change the fuel filter, fill up with "good" gas and hopefully that will work. You say the needle is half way up the guage? Is it reading boost at idle? If it is then try another boost gauge, if you have one, "just" to be safe. Does your gauge read zero when off? Also does it read any vacuum at ANY time during start up, idle, or revving? Let us know.

I am putting in new gas and a fuel filter today. I'll let you know what I come up with. I put in the stabilizer but I think it was way to late (about a year ago) after siting for one year. Thanks for the advice.

Yea two year old gas will not allow your car to run well at all. Thats most likely your probelm
