the 2g NT, is either a chrysler 420a, or a mitsu 4g64 engines. I'd imagine they have completely different transmissions.
I still debate on the 1g's though. They both look the same. I was under the impression the only difference was the internals. but I'm sure mavisky knows his stuff.

Trust me 1g's won't switch. I tried it.

2g's won't even be close as they're not even from the same manufacturer.

I have a similar question while we're on this topic.. I couldn't put a 1g nt engine into my 95 gsx could i?

Alright well why wouldn't you? Just trying to get some info on this swp because i need a block. I was just planning on taking the head off the 1g motor and using my head, Putting new rings and rod and main bearings in the bttom end of the 1g motor and use that bottom end and the 2g head just basically to have that block? would i lose power? whats different? or could i get different pistons and crank if they're different in the 2g?

Oh I thought you were wanting to put an actual nt motor in your car, not just rebuild a 6 bolt nt block. I'm currently running an nt block with turbo internals and externals. Only nt parts left are the front case, block, rear seal housing, and crank.

Yes you can do it long as its 4G63 swapping to 4G63, which it is so it will be fine. The OPs question is already awnsered so I won't even start on it:)

Oh no way.. I blew my motor the rod went through the block, so i was just going to rebuild the bottom end on the nt block (crank, rods, pistons, rings, bearings) and then use my turbo top end (head, cams etc.) and put it back in my car with that.. just wanted to know if that would work find because i've seen a couple posts saying the nt trannies are dirrerent then the gst trannies

Yes it will be fine to do that swap. Yes the n/t tranny's are different from thegst tranny's, firstly because they are weaker then the gst or gsx tranny's, and secondly they have a different gear ratio.
