I do not understand how to work the mmcd software. Is there a manual for it somewhere?

#1 turn the pda on and touch the hotsync icon
#2 then, it will show another hotsync icon with a local /modem box above it and on the same screen in the top left corner it will have a hotsync file #3 click it and in the drop box it will show six options but you want to click "connection setup"
#4 clck new, it will have these options:" connect to" click local network "via" click serial or craddle/cable then click ok. now your pda is setup

#1 run the disk that that came with it
#2 click and run the plam desktop setup
#3 click on palm desktop 41.4 then it will start to install the software
#4now you should have the hotsync icon in your tool bar (bottom right corner) click it
#5 thenclick on the icon and there will be drop box, put a check mark beside "local usb" and "local serial"
#6 first open the palm desktop then from your disk click the file "dsm datlogger 1g"
#7 click on the file "mmcd 1.5d" then drag the mmcd pre. to the palmone quick install (holding the left button down and moving the highlighted mmcd pre. to the palm desktop and now your ready to install (hotsync) the mmcd software on the pda.

What do you want to know? On a 1g... To start logging click on the mmcd icon, click new, click the parameters you wish to log (knock, idc, tima, rpm... stuff like that), then unclick pause and click log and start your pull(s). I like to click graph or chart or whatever it is as well. To stop logging, unclick log. To review the log, click pause, and "Review/Monitor" (or something a lot like that) should pop up on the bottom right. Click review and you will be able to scroll back and forth and see what you've logged. To select what parameters you want to see graphed, click on where the data for that parameter is displayed (to the right of where it says "idc, rpm".. and so on). Also, you cannot shut your logger off unless pause has been checked. I hope this helps. :dsm:

what he means is he hasn't installed the mmcd software in his pda yet and needs help

okay, I got it on the palm now....thanks. Now I'm trying to figure out how to use it. Can you change settings on your car using this? or is it strictly to tell you how your car is running, then based off that you make your changes via safc?

Also, how do I read codes to tell me why my check engine light is on?

Lol...my bad.

Munster000: You'll have to use the safc to actually change the settings, then see how they effect your car using the logger.

also, it read youy engine codes to tell you why the service light is on:

#1 click the mmcd icon

#2 then,in the top left corner click the mmcd box

#3 in the mode box click test

#4 now, you can read or erase DTC's (engine codes to tell you why the service light's on)
and you can test your fuel injectors, fuel system, and solenoids

I don't see how to view the engine codes.....I don't see the "mode box."
Is there somewhere I can see what all the abbreviations mean? most of them are self explanitory, but some I don't know.

Last, I logged a few pulls. What do I do next to view the data? unclick log, then click pause? then I go to the review menu and there is no data there.

Thanks for the help.
