I just bought a 1g AWD TALON.
Its has a few missing parts: Radiator, intercooler, pipes, battery and turbo setup.
Engine and tranny seems to still be inplace without being taken apart.
My question is how much am i looking at to make this car get into the 11's?
All interior is going out, emmision controls, and anything that is not needed for the car to run right.
This is going to be a winter project for me and knowing that the 1g 6 bolt engines can hold some good boost im looking to run it at around 20-22 psi on a stock long block.
My other question is what is a good turbo setup for this car around the 350-450 hp range. Im looking for something that flows great so i can make as much as possible at 20-22 psi.

Thanks

Btw im farely good with a wrench just need a little more info... thats all

Use a better subject line more specific to your question and all I am going to awnser out of that is a 20g turbo should do you.

hahah your so right... I was totally zoned out when i wrote this.
Im talking about money wise. If i do all the work myself how much would it run me to get my car in the 11's.

Well you may as well get an intercooler, price will vary on preferance. The best thing you can do is find the parts you want and look at the price. Then you write the price down and add it all up, walla grand total.

If you had a question on what turbo would get you to 11's then that could be answerd.

Great all i did was write a simple question on how much it would cost to get my new car into the 11's and what do u guys do? U give me a warning level.
You guys are totally not friendly and it looks like ive come to the wrong place.

Hope u guys are happy.

Ohh ya walla. Your right thanks for the dumb reply. Dont u think i know i could add up prices? Do u think i would be here asking if i didnt think of that? I was just looking for a quick reply to see what im getting myself into.
But thanks anyway.

The reason you are not getting any helpful replies is because you cannot really answer the question. The cost is really up to the car, I mean you bought a car that is not in running condition and you have not posted compression numbers. For all we know by the time you get your newer turbo setup your motor could blow up. Also the transmissions in these cars are not the strong points especially one that is 12-16 years old. So really trying to figure out your cost is anything but quick.

Now you said this is going to be a winter project but will it be a summer only daily driver, a fun weekend car, or a race track only car. Tell us what your direction is with the car, and what your budget is. Also get the car running and see what condition the motor is in and how the tranny shifts.

There have been projects out there such as "goodwill" that made 11's in a fwd with a 14b after only spending 5grand and that includes buying the car. These guys however were not new to the model of car they were looking at. They bought a running car and knew what they were doing so you could spend up to 10grand easy depending on how you go about it.

Do some more reading and learn thats all you can really do. I spent two months reading on different forums before I even bought my car let alone trying to take it into the 11's.

Good luck.

P.S A 50trim would be cheaper then a 20g and will net the same resaults. It's all in how you tune your car.

Sorry if our answers werent what you wanted to hear/or what you were looking for.

I guess since you are lazy I can add this in as well.

Intake Pipe : 100
RNR Exhaust : 700
Evo3 Manifold : 200
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump : 150
750 Injectors : 300
Fuel Pressure Regulator : 250
Boost Controller : 100
50 Trim Turbo : 900
Frontmount Kit : 800
Clutch : 450
Timing Belt Etc : 400
Fluids : 120
DSM Link : 600
------------------------
$5170 before taxes

Now you are still going to need tires, spark plugs/wires, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, brakes, suspension parts, bushings, various tools, and what ever random part comes up such as gaskets. Was that all that hard?

READ THE RULES BEOFORE YOU POST!!!!

Don't come on here saying how we're not helpful or nice people when you don't even put in enough effort to read the sticky right at the top of the NEWBIE forum. I think its goes something like " Don't ask how to runs 10's when you haven't run 12's yet". Now sure your askin how to run 11's but your missing the whole point of that sticky. If you educate yourself you won't need to ask how to go fast you'll just do it. There is more than enough information to get you in the right direction starting with the tech articles where it even has a suggested upgrade path. But hey you knew that already right
